A brief history
The laboratory was founded in year 2000 by the Engineering Faculty of Lecco, with the support of the Manufacturing Section (Sezione di Tecnologie Meccaniche e Produzione) of the Mechanical Department of the Politecnico di Milano.
Goals
The SITEC Lecco - Laboratorio per le Applicazioni Laser has three souls, which correspond to the needs of three different types of users.
The first one, strongly related to the "school" role of universities, concerns the didactics, with particular attention to the Engineering Faculty of Lecco.
The second one concerns the scientific research, and is mainly headed to the definition of new laser applications.
The third one is devoted to the services for industries, with the developement and tuning of indutrial laser processes, first of all welding.
The head of the SITEC Lecco is prof. Edoardo CAPELLO.
